Ringwood Bowling Club is situated in the lovely Hampshire market town of Ringwood, with its excellent range of restaurants and shops, on the fringe of the New Forest National Park and only 10 miles from Bournemouth. We like to welcome visiting clubs, whether for friendlies or league matches, and can offer a friendly and sociable atmosphere, a beautiful green and a well equipped club house with tea and coffee facilities and a licensed bar. The panoramic view below was taken at the end of September.
Less than 10 minutes walk from the town centre of Ringwood, the Club was established in 1933 and is still playing on the same original green. The picture on the left shows the very first wood being delivered on the green by Miss Hilary Christy, whose father was President of the club for 9 years (Photo courtesy of Mr and Mrs D G Rumens).
We are an active and friendly club, with ladies' teams playing league games on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, men's teams playing league games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. On Saturday mornings and afternoons, mixed teams play in the B&DBA leagues. (for further details, see the Club Teams page)
Bowling is an excellent form of gentle healthy exercise and a rewarding social activity. New members are always welcome, so if you are interested in finding out more about the club or would like to try bowling, please contact us. You can also click here to view/download a quick summary guide to the Club's activities. During the season (mid-April to late September) the club is open for bowling from 10:00 am, when members can practice in roll ups, play friendly games, internal Club Competitions and League Matches. We have a clubhouse and bar where members can meet over tea or coffee if they wish. Club members also play in organised social games on Monday evenings, and we have internal club competitions that cater for all skill levels. During the winter months we have indoor short mat bowling available for those that wish to play a very social game in this format.
Coaching is available if required.
