Ringwood Bowling Club

It was a damp start to the season, last week. The first Harry Wright trophy match didn’t take place, on Monday, and the Men’s ‘A’ Team Thursday match was postponed.

On Monday 24th April, six of our ladies played in The B&D Lilian Lynex Trophy at Southbourne. Mavis Hammond and Helen Blackiston won their games to play in the quarter finals where they unfortunately came second. A long but enjoyable day with plenty of wind and rain during the afternoon. Thank you to all the ladies who played and our markers. Debbie Senior.

On Wednesday 26th, the ladies were in action again, at Home against Bournemouth, in the Preliminary Round of the Bowls England, Hampshire Section, Women's Top Club Competition. Ringwood won the Triples match but unfortunately lost in the Singles, Pairs and Fours. Points 1 - 3. Shots 52 - 92.

The League season didn’t get going as well as hoped but well done to the Ladies and the Saturday Morning Triples Teams for winning their matches.

Tuesday 25th April. NFBA Men's 1st Team Away versus Highcliffe. A difficult match against a strengthened Highcliffe Team resulted in only one rink win for Ringwood. Rinks 3 - 1. Shots 68 - 52. Points 7 - 1.

Thursday 27th April. B&DWBA Ladies Team Away versus Milford-on-Sea. The Ladies got their season under way with a fine, but close, 2 shot win. Rinks 1 - 1. Shots 24 - 22. Points 4 - 2.

Thursday 27th April. NFBA Men's A Team at Home versus Waterside A. Match Postponed.

Saturday 29th April. B&DBA Morning Triples Mixed B Team Away versus West Moors Bees. A great win for the Mixed B team to kick off the season. Rinks 1 - 1. Shots 34 -27. Points 4 - 2.

Saturday 29th April.B&DBA Premier Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Boscombe Cliff. Always a tough match to start the season. No different this year with only one rink win for Ringwood. Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 41 - 68. Points 2 - 8.

Saturday 29th April. B&DBA Premier Mixed A Team Away versus Southbourne A. Not a great start for the A team succumbing to a whitewash. Rinks 3 - 0. Shots 79 - 48. Points 10 - 0.
