The News from Leamington Spa
Wednesday 16th August. Bowls England Mixed Pairs. Pete Ward and Sharon Varndell (Hampshire) won their first match, 19-14, but sadly lost in the Round of 16, 15-11, against Alan Morton and Erika White (Kent).
 
Friday 18th August. Bowls England Senior Pairs. Sadly, Peter Ward and Chris Daniels (Boscombe Cliff), (Hampshire) lost their first match against Dave Smith and Ged Costello (Dorset), 20-16.
 
Friday 18th August. Bowls England Women's Senior Pairs. Sharon Varndell (substituting for Carol Broomfield) and Vivienne Mansell (Hampshire) won their first match, 16-14, against Rose Houghton and Velda Cooper (Northamptonshire) but lost their Round of 16 match, 20-11, against Margaret Smith, Teresa Orriss (Surrey).
 
Congratulations and Well Done to Peter and Sharon for getting to and competing at Leamington Spa.

Monday 14th August. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Fordingbridge. A great win in this catch up match, postponed from Sunday 6th August, lifts the 1st Team 3 places into 4th, position in the league. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 63 - 51. Points 8 - 2.

Tuesday 15th August. NFWBA Ladies Team Away Versus Lyndhurst 2. A great win positions the Ladies in 6th place. Rinks 0 - 2. Shots 27 - 38. Points 0 - 6.

Tuesday 15th August  NFBA Men's 1st Team Home & Away versus Braeside. A great victory for the 1st Team to reach the semi finals of the President's Trophy. Rinks 3 - 1. Shots 59 - 52.

Thursday 17th August. B&DWBA Ladies Team Away Versus Highcliffe. Ringwood Ladies stay in 4th place following this loss to the leaders, Highcliffe. Rinks 1 - 1. Shots 37 - 29. Points 4 - 2.

Thursday 17th August. NFBA Men's A Team Home & Away Versus New Milton A. The A Team drop out of theRingwood Shield following a disappointing performance. Rinks 0 - 4. Shots 45 - 69.

Saturday 19th August. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team Away Versus Highcliffe C. The B Team drop down into the relegation zone, following another loss. Rinks 2 - 0. Shots 43 - 30. Points 6 - 0.

Saturday 19th August. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home Versus Broadstone Wessex. A great maximum points performance raises the 1st Team up into 3rd place.. Rinks 3 - 0. Shots 79 - 38. Points 10 - 0.

Saturday 19th August. B&DBA Mixed A Team Away Versus Argyll A. A disappointing result keeps the A Team rooted to the bottom of the table. Rinks 2.5 - 0.5. Shots 73 - 43. Points 9 - 1.
