Congratulations and Well Done to the following.
 
Yesterday morning at the Southampton Open Tournament, Carol Broomfield, Sharon Varndall and Helen Blackiston Won through to become the Ladies Triples Champions for 2024.
Sadly in the afternoon however, Sharon lost her match to finish runner-up in the  Ladies Singles Final.
 
Also yesterday, the two Ringwood Pairs of Jake Palmer/Tony Nixon and Peter Ward/Dan Cookman played in the Bowls Hampshire Men's Pairs Last Eights at Banister Park.
Peter Ward and Dan Cookman won their Quarter Final match against Dieter Kuhn & Chris Marsh (Farnborough) 19 - 9 and also their Semi Final against Gary Squires & John Halliday (Banister Park) 16 - 13. The Final will take place on 3rd or 4th August at Banister Park against Zac Miller & Adam White (Basingstoke Town) who earlier defeated Jake Palmer and Tony Nixon in their Quarter Final, 19 - 10.
 
On Monday, Helen Blackiston & Christine Pentelow won their Bowls Hampshire Golden Girls West Area Final at Bournemouth against Doreen Harrison & Jacqui Meager (Southbourne). They march on to play in the Finals at Banister Park on Tuesday 6th August, starting at 10.00am against Sue Milton & Cathy Hopwood (Andover).
 
Peter Ward and Sharon Varndell have won their Bowls England Mixed Pairs Hampshire (Mid/West) Area Final against Lotty Kirwan
(Banister Park) 20 - 9. They next face Walter Hume (Poole Park) in the All-England Round of 32 at a Midway Neutral Green, to be played by Monday 5th August.
Peter unfortunately lost his Bowls England Men's Senior Singles - Hampshire (Mid/West) Area Final against Paul Sidwell (Folland) 21 - 9.
 
Sharon Varndell and Dan Cookman won their Bowls England Family Pairs All-England Round of 32 against Max Beaman & Pat Brown (Plessey, Isle of Wight) 23 - 4. They now go on to play in the 2024 Aviva National Family Pairs All-England Finals at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa starting on Saturday 24th August.
 
Sadly, Ringwood couldn't field a team to play in the Bowls Hampshire Mixed Top Club West Area Quarter Final and so Highcliffe get the W/O into the West Area Semi Final.

Also a £20 prize for the Best Casual/Colourful/Fancy Dress

Tuesday 23rd July. NFWBA Ladies Team Away versus New Milton 2. Another great win for the ladies, by just 2 shots, placing them 4 points above 2nd pace chasers, Milford on Sea.Rinks 1 - 1. Shots 34 - 36. Points 2 - 4.

Tuesday 23rd July. NFBA Men's 1st Team Away versus Fordingbridge. The 1st Team's loss in this match confirms Fordingbridge as this years Champions with only one league game left. A good win is needed in the last League game against New Milton, on Tuesday, to ensure the runners up place.Rinks 3 - 1. Shots 64 - 51. Points 7 - 1.

Thursday 25th July. B&DWBA Ladies Team Away versus Ferndown 2. Match postponed due to the weather.

Thursday 25th July. NFBA Men's A Team at Home versus Downton. The A Team stay bottom after this loss, following last weeks break. Unfortunately, they will stay bottom as they are too far adrift with only one league match left. Rinks 1½ - 2½. Shots 60 - 75. Points 1.5 - 6.5.

Thursday 25th July. NFBA Men's B Team Away versus New Milton D. Unfortunately, a team could not be raised to play this match so the points go to New Milton D. A good win in the last league match could see the B Team jump up one place.

Saturday 27th July. B&DBA Mixed B Team Away versus Fordingbridge Forresters. Despite a poor result, the B Team manage not to drop down to bottom slot. Rinks 2 - 0. Shots 50 - 13. Points 6 - 0.

Saturday 27th July. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Kings Park. Back to winning ways after last weeks disaster keeping the 1st Team in 5th place. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 63 - 33. Points 8 - 2.

Saturday 27th July. B&DBA Mixed A Team Away versus Bournemouth C. A good win away on a very tricky green keeps the A Team in 4th pace. Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 46 - 58. Points 2 - 8.
