The current B&DBA Over 65 Pairs Champions, Derick Faulkner and Derrick Fulker, have battled through to reach the final again this year.
They face Argyll's Bernard Kelly and his partner in the Final at Meyrick Park on Sunday 14th September.

The Semi Finals of the Autumn Triples took place on Monday evening.
The Final is between John Stone, Malcolm Chater & Amanda Smith versus Denis Newham, Andy Mackay & Debbie Senior
which will take place on Monday 8th September at 10:30am

 The two Club Final's Matches that didn't take place on Finals Day were played on Wednesday evening.The Winners and Runners-Up are as follows.

Saturday 30th August. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team Away versus Downton Dragons. No points for the B Team, from this match, but they remain safely in 6th position. Hopefully, they will bounce back in their last match, next Saturday,  at Home against Pelhams Sea Hawks. Rinks 2 - 0. Shots 36 - 27. Points 6 - 0.

Saturday 30th August. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Poole Park. Sadly, the 1st Team couldn't maintain the momentum following last week's great win, leaving them in 7th place. With only 3 points difference between 6th and 9th place, an exceptionally good win, away versus league leaders Boscombe Cliff, or favourable results from other matches next Saturday, will determine the 1st Team's fate. Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 46 - 63. Points 2 - 8.

Saturday 30th August. B&DBA Mixed A Team Away versus New Milton B. The A Team lose this rain shortened match but remain in a safe 6th position in the League. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 37 - 29. Points 8 - 2.

Following their promotion from Division 2, at the end of last season, it is a great achievement to go on and become Champions at the first attempt

At The Aviva National Championships - Royal Leamington Spa
 
Following on from last weeks Weekly Bulletin, Sooki, Steve Hill, John Sanderson and Lee Croad won their Men’s Senior Fours Round 2 match, on Monday morning, against Richard Spriggs, Barry Stone, David Dar, Nigel Smith (Essex County, Essex), 17 - 16. In their afternoon Quarter Final match however, they sadly lost 21 - 6 to Richard Spriggs, Barry Stone, David Dar, Nigel Smith (Essex County, Essex) who went on to become the Men’s Senior Fours National Champions.
 
Congratulations and well done to Sooki, Steve Hill, John Sanderson and Lee Croad for progressing so far into the National Championships.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend Sunday's Finals Day but I am reliably informed that it was a most enjoyable day for all of those who took part in or witnessed the event and the matches that took place.
Many thanks to Doug who ran the competitions, Ivan, the Pulled Pork King, for the barbecue and to all those who helped out, on the day, to make it a very successful event.

Thursday 21st August. B&DWBA Ladies Team Away versus Ferndown Sapphires. A great maximum points win, in the last game of the season, cements the Ladies in the top position and Triples League Champions for 2025. Rinks 0 - 2. Shots 33 - 49. Points 0 - 6.

Saturday 23rd August. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team at Home versus West Moors Bees. A great win for the B Team keeps them in the mid table position. Rinks 1 - 1. Shots 38 - 29. Points 4 - 2.

Saturday 23rd August. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team Away versus Highcliffe. Another good win keeps the 1st Team in mid table but they will need to maintain the momentum to ensure safety.  Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 44 - 52. Points 2 - 8.

At The Aviva National Championships - Royal Leamington Spa
 
Sadly on Wednesday morning, Steve Hill lost his National Men’s 2W Singles 1st Round match, against Kyle Anderson (Royal Wootton Bassett) at Royal Leamington Spa, 19 - 2.
 
On Thursday morning, Hampshire representatives Carol Broomfield & Janet Ballard (Waterside) won their Ladies' Over 60's Pairs match against Doreen Butcher & Kris Owen (Essex) 18 - 11.
In the afternoon Quarter Final however, they met their match against Val Davis & Liz Lock (Devon) losing by just 2 shots, 18 - 16.
 
This afternoon, Sooki, Steve Hill, John Sanderson and Lee Croad began their campaign in the National Men’s Senior Fours. They started with a great performance, in the 1st Round, defeating Grant Talman, Michael James, Martin Randell, Richard Gilbert (Hagbourne, Berkshire), 21 - 4 after 16 Ends.
Tomorrow, they play against Richard Spriggs, Barry Stone, David Dar, Nigel Smith (Essex County, Essex) at 9.15am. If successful, they will go on to play a Quarter Final match in the afternoon, starting at 12.45pm.

During the week on Wednesday and Friday Ringwood Bowling Club hosted the BH Ladies West Area Benevolent Two Bowl Triples Competition matches.
Margaret Everett's team (Pelhams) emerged as Winners and proceed to the Finals on Sunday 31st August, at Banister Park, tol play Bridget May's team (Banister Park), the South Area Winners, in the Semi Final at 10:00.
The winners of this will play in the Final at 14:00 against the winners of East versus North Hampshire.
A Special Big Thank You to all members who spent their time and energies, before, during and after the event, into making this a very successful time which, on the Wednesday, raised £136.

The Ringwood Bowling Club Competition Finals Day takes place next Sunday 24th August
In addition to this annual feast of Bowling, Ivan Griffin will again be demonstrating his Barbecuing skills, during the day, to satisfy your culinary delights.
So, come along and enjoy the days competition and socialising with other members in a convivial atmosphere to watch the action.

Tuesday 12th August. NFBA Men's 1st Team Home & Away versus Lyndhurst . In the President's Trophy Quarter Final the 1st Team sadly lost by 7 shots despite the better Rinks tally of 2½ - 1½. 

Thursday 14th August. B&DWBA Ladies Team at Home versus Milford on Sea. The ladies bounced back this week with a fine maximum points win.Rinks 2 - 0. Shots 48 - 26. Points 6 - 0.

Thursday 14th August. NFBA Men's A Team Home & Away versus Totton & Eling. In the Ringwood ShieldQuarter Final the A Team didn't fair much better than the 1st Team and sadly lost by 3 shots.Rinks 2 - 2. Shots 50 - 53.

Saturday 16th August. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team Away versus Argyll D. No match. Ringwood were unable to raise a team. Rinks 2 - 0. Shots 10 - 0. Points 6 - 0.

Saturday 16th August. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Argyll. Despite only winning one rink it was a great, desperately needed, overall win for the 1st Team in a very close game. Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 51 - 49. Points 6 - 4.

Saturday 16th August. B&DBA Mixed A Team Away versus Blandford Blues. A tough game against the League leaders but the A Team came away with a well earned point. Rinks 2½  - ½. Shots 47 - 41. Points 9 - 1.

Congratulations and Well Done to Chris Pentelow and Helen Blackiston who are this years Bowls Hampshire Golden Girls Champions
On Wednesday, Chris Pentelow and Helen Blackiston played in the final stages of the Bowls Hampshire Golden Girls Competition at Banister Park.
In the Semi Final they defeated Sue Dixon and Janie Vickers (Oakley) 20-16 and in the afternoon, in a very close Final, they won 19-18 against Jean Garrod and Lyn Booth (Mayfield Park).

On Wednesday 13th August, the Aviva National Finals start at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa

Saturday 9th August. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team at Home versus Swanage Dolphins. Despite losing this match, the B team stay in 3rd place but only 1 point above the Downton Dragons. Rinks1 - 1. Shots 29 - 43. Points 2 - 4.

Saturday 9th August. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team Away versus New Milton. With no points accrued from this match the 1st Team sit, worryingly, only 4 points above the relegation zone. Rinks 3 - 0. Shots 60 - 34. Points 10 - 0.

Saturday 9th August. B&DBA Mixed A Team at Home versus Electric Electrons. A good win against the Electrons secures 5th place for the A Team. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 51 - 42. Points 8 - 2.

The 1st Team finished Runners Up, in Division 1, to New Milton
The A Team also finished as Runners Up, in Division 4, to West Moors A, gaining promotion to Division 3
Well Done to both Captains and their squad of players

Club Captain, Lee Croad and partner Nicky Jones, put on a spirited performance in the Bournemouth Open Pairs Semi Final on Saturday
Sadly however, they lost 27 - 17 to England International Jamie Walker and sub Russel Morgan, who went on to become Open Pairs Champions

For electricity supplied back to the Grid, we recently received a further payment from British Gas of £324, which brings the total since installation last year to £1,032
This is in addition to substantially reduced monthly electricity bills over the same period

Tuesday 29th July. NFBA Men's 1st Team at Home versus Waterside. A big turnaround on the very last end to be played swung the match Ringwood's way to ensure 2nd place, in the League, by half a point. Rinks 3 - 1. Shots 75 - 57. Points 7 - 1.

Thursday 31st July. B&DWBA Ladies Team No Match.

Last Sunday's hosting of the National Women's Top Club and the Boys Under 17s Singles All England Round of 16 matches went very well. The following email was received by our Ladies Captain, Chris Pentelow.

'Hi Chris,

Just a quick message to say a huge thank you to yourself and all the members of Ringwood for your very kind hospitality yesterday.

We were made to feel so welcome and your facilities were great. The green bowled lovely and the homemade cakes were beautiful (the talking point of the car journey home).

Thank you again so much for being so accommodating!

We very much hope our paths cross again in the future.

Report of last Tuesday's Bowls Evening with Ringwood Round Table, from Helen Blackiston.
 
A fun evening. Tuesday we hosted 12 Ringwood Round Tablers to enjoy an evening on our green trying lawn bowls, a number of them for the first time, only reluctantly stopping when it was approaching too dark to play.
The photo in the club house is when it rained for 20mins thank goodness for the bar and sandwiches. They left saying we are really looking forward to doing it all again next year and thanking the evening helpers, Carole, Patricia, Kate, James and Helen.

Congratulations and Well done to Helen Blackiston and Chris Pentelow have won through to play at Banister Park in the Bowls Hampshire Golden Girls Semi Final, against Janie Vickers (Oakley), on Wednesday 6th August. The winner will go on to play the Final in the afternoon.

Carol Broomfield is off to Leamington. On Friday, Carol and partner Janet Ballard (Waterside) won their Bowls England Women's Over 60' Pairs, Round of 32,  match against Brenda Grout (Hook, Hampshire (East/North) 14 - 13. They progress to the next round at Leamington Spa, on Thursday 14th August at 9.0am, versus either Jacqui Miller (Rochford, Essex (South) or Kris Owen (Quendon, Essex (Mid/North). Well done Carol and Janet.

Thursday 24th July. B&DWBA Ladies Team No Match.

Thursday 24th July. NFBA Men's A Team Away versus West Moors A. A disappointing points tally from this match means that the A team will need to accrue 5.5 points from their last league match, against Downton, to ensure promotion. Failing that, results from other matches will define their fate. Rinks 2½ - 1½. Shots 72 - 65. Points 6.5 - 1.5.

Saturday 26th July. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team Away versus Richmond Park Panthers. The B Team bite back and jump up 3 places, to 3rd, following this emphatic win.  Rinks 0 - 2. Shots 18 - 48. Points 0 - 6.

Saturday 26th July. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Branksome Park.  The 1st Team drop down one place following this loss, at home, to the bottom placed club. Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 42 - 53. Points 2 - 8.

Saturday 26th July. B&DBA Mixed A Team Away versus Bournemouth C. A close call against the bottom placed club but the A Team came away with a good win. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 47 - 50. Points 4 - 6.

The B&DWBA website still doesn't show League Tables for 2025. However, Chris Pentelow has supplied a League Table following last Thursday's matches.
Keep it going Ladies for the last three matches, the next one being a top of the table clash, Away, against Knyveton Gardens on the 7th August.

 BH Senior Fours Champions 2025
The Bowls Hampshire Senior Fours Champions 2025
 
Congratulations and Well Done to Steve Hill, John Sanderson, Lee Croad and Sooki who are this year's Bowls Hampshire Senior Fours Champions.
Playing last Sunday, at Banister Park, they defeated Farnborough 21-17 in the morning Semi Final and in the afternoon Final, took the trophy defeating Sports Centre (Southhampton)12-10.
The team go on to play in the Bowls England 'Aviva' National Finals, at Leamington Spa, on Sunday 17th August.

The following day, Steve Hill returned to Banister Park to take on the best of Hampshire in the 2 Wood Singles. In the Quarter Final he defeated John Blair (Alton) 16-11. In the Semi Final he defeated Martin Smith (Waterside) 15-11. In the Final, he defeated Alan B Forrest (Fleming Park) by 3 shots to progress to play at the Bowls England 'Aviva' National Finals, at Leamington Spa, on Wednesday 13th August.

Also on Monday, Carol Broomfield and partner Janet Ballard got tickets to Ryde to play Leen Hampshire (Ryde Marina, Isle of Wight) in the Bowls England Women's Over 60' Pairs, Hampshire (Mid/West) / Isle of Wight Area Final.
They won the match 19-6 and go on to play Brenda Grout (Hook, Hampshire) in the All-England Round of 32 at Andover on Friday 25th July.

Today, Sharon Varndell, Carol Broomfield, Chris Pentelow and Helen Blackiston played their Bowls Hampshire Ladies Fours Quarter and Semi Finals at Banister Park. In the morning they won their Quarter Final match against the BH East Area 2 team. Sadly however,, they lost in the afternoon Semi Final by 3 shots.

Saturday 12th July. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Moordown. The 1st Team stay in 6th place following this fine win against bottom placed Moordown. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 50 - 36. Points 8 - 2.
